Raw material
Our raw materials come from the local forests. Viking Timber uses approximately 420.000 m3 timber/year, where 90% is spruce and 10% pine. While the sawn timber we deliver is produced according to the quality and length our customers require, we strive to acquire timber that suits these requirements directly from the forest. We check supplies against our price list and length corrections. This means that our timber suppliers must adapt their timber according to our pricelist before felling in order to make the best fit. Please contact us before felling.
The map below shows our approximate catchment area.

The forest is not just a “bank for raw materials”, it also has a lot of other values for us humans, such as recreation, experiencing the countryside, flora and fauna, etc. Through increased awareness of our environment and the use of its resources we have today, forest products will have a great future. The forest, unlike other resources, is a renewable material that suits modern thought about recirculation.
That is why Viking Timber uses raw materials from an environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and long-term forestry.

| Did you know... | | When trees grow, they trap the greenhousegas carbon monoxide and create wood, the main constituent of a tree. When wood decays or is burned carbon monoxide is realesed and is re-absorbed into plant life. The forest is an important part of the cycle of coal. |
